Beni Suef Governorate is considered a pioneer in the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants due to its favorable climatic and weather conditions, in addition to the nature of the agricultural land suitable for the production of many medicinal and aromatic plants crops. Research and educational institutions attached to Beni Suef University - affiliated to the Ministry of Higher Education - Arab Republic of Egypt, [Prime Minister’s Resolution No. 1409 of 2017 AD] as a response to these requirements and within the framework of the university’s ambitious research plan 2015-2020, and the Egyptian state’s development plan 2030. The Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research Institute aims to become a distinguished and leading academic research institute in the research of medicinal and aromatic plants at the local and international levels, in order to keep pace with scientific progress at the world level and to meet the local and external demand in developing the industry and production of medicinal and aromatic plants and the applications based on them. It also looks forward to providing various services to meet the needs of the community and reach the highest level of local and international standards. The production and dissemination of knowledge, providing innovative solutions in the field of medicinal and aromatic plants research, preparing qualified scientific cadres to meet the needs and requirements of the labor market, able to compete locally and regionally, and conducting scientific research, studies and consultations in this field that keep pace with scientific developments and technology,and support services for consulting and training for the community
