Postgraduate Admission Requirements



Professional and research master's
  • The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree with a general grade of at least “good” in science, agricultural or pharmaceutical sciences, or its equivalent from other faculties such as veterinary medicine, biotechnology, environmental studies, applied medical sciences and departments in faculties of education (for professional master’s degree) .
  •  The student must complete the documents and forms required by the Graduate Studies Department.
  • The approval of the employer (for workers in government agencies) to study the applicant two days a week.
 
PhD
 The applicant must have a research master's degree in one of the institute's fields of specialization or from one of the academic departments corresponding to the institute's specializations from other colleges and institutes.

Credit hour cost 
-200 Egyptian pounds per credit hour for research master's and doctoral degrees
250 pounds for a professional master's degree.

Study system
The study is in the credit hour system with the adoption of the hybrid education system (online).

Postgraduate application dates
1- Students apply for a professional master’s degree once every academic year, on the first of July, for a period of 15 days
2- Enrollment for the Research Master’s and Doctorate of Philosophy degrees takes place twice each academic year, on the first of July, for a period of 15 days, for the fall semester, and from the first of January, and for a period of 15 days for enrollment in the spring semester.
3- The Council of the Institute, based on the proposal of the councils of the specialized scientific departments, determines the number of students who are accepted annually.

General conditions for admission and registration
1- To have a bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences, sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, or an equivalent from other practical colleges from one of the universities or institutes recognized by the Supreme Council of Universities in one of the institute’s specializations
2- The student must fulfill the conditions for studying in the scientific department, if any, and obtain the approval of the relevant department council and the institute’s council
3- The student must complete the required documents and forms: baccalaureate certificate, grades certificate, cumulative grade point average, conscription status (for males) and birth certificate.
4- The approval of the employer and allowing him to devote the necessary time
 5- Pay the annual tuition fees
6- ICDL Certificate
 
To obtain a master's degree by research
Pass all courses with a cumulative GPA of at least C.
Successful completion of the summer training for four weeks, 8 hours per day.
Passing the graduation project.
The duration of the study is two years from the date of registration.
The degree does not qualify the graduate to advance to the Ph.D.
 
Obtaining a professional master's degree
Pass all courses with a cumulative GPA of at least C.
Finalization and approval of the topic of the master's thesis.
The duration of the study is 4 years from the date of registration, and the registration may be maintained for another period of no more than one year with the approval of the main supervisor and the competent councils.
